We've just updated the systems, due to CVE-2018-0737.
We may also conduct another maintenance during the weekend, as we have prepared some database changes, that we feel are ready to be applied to the forum.
-
This weeks maintenance done. We upgraded the DB backend and enabled failover on the forum hosts, plus upgraded to the latest versions of all software.
Now back to working on the new VulnDetect program. -
We just had a small "emergency" fix that we needed to fix a few minutes ago, due to the new database. Sorry for the additional downtime.
-
And now the search feature is also enabled on the forum:

It seems that notifications got sent twice yesterday, this should be fixed now.
-
We've just updated the forum software and the OS. This should at the most have caused a few seconds of downtime.
-
@Tom This topic should be moved to "Announcements "
-
We've removed the skin since it loaded components externally. The forum still loads Google Fonts externally, we hope that NodeBB will change this.
-
The new UI of the forums is good and loads faster on phones
-
After working with the new UI I must say that it is a bit "naked" and too simple
Maybe because I am used to the old layout. -
@olli_s I tend to agree. Some day when there is extra time I will explore the options for hosting the external content locally (if the licenses permit). We don't want to have unnecessary external content, since it allows other sites to track (your) activity at vulndetect.com
-
Currently working on the upgrade to version 1.9.3 of NodeBB, however, it seems to break custom content, that means that the Privacy Policy is deleted, both from the staging and the live environment. I will make a separate post with the most recent Privacy Policy. And in a few minutes NodeBB will be upgraded.
-
@vulndetect Forum software upgraded without downtime. However, given the regression with the custom content / Privacy Policy, then you are most welcome to report any issues with the forum. And yes, this one was done outside the "regular" window, going forward there will be no fixed time where we do maintenance, unless we expect it to cause downtime, in which case we will aim for Wednesday mornings.
-
Today we have moved the forum to vulndetect.org, this is done to accommodate some planned future changes to our infrastructure. This move is permanent. We will continue to redirect for some weeks from https://vulndetect.com/?1.
Note: vulndetect.org will be "served" from three addresses:
- ipv4.vulndetect.org (for those few who can't access dual stack sites)
- ipv6.vulndetect.org (mostly for testing)
- vulndetect.org (dual stack, any properly configured ipv4 or ipv6 client should be able to use this)
We apologize for the inconvenience.
-
@vulndetect This issue had been reintroduced, this is now fixed.
-
We are upgrading VulnDetect Personal and Vulndetect Corporate this morning. So you are likely to see a bit of downtime while we deploy new servers.
-
We are currently releasing some breaking changes. So the VulnDetect service is currently unavailable. We will be back in a few minutes.
